Morning Hollow
02:24
|
|
||
Today I stood in the light,
and my shadow nearly slipped away.
I wish I could see ahead,
and know what not to say.
But the morning hollow sits so well,
and the knowledge of what comes next would be its own hell.
Today I stared at the light,
to blind myself from all of the ways
that you could be torn away,
or pulled under.

You are full of pain,
and I am full of shame.
I'd go back,
but there's nothing I can change.
Maybe, one day, you will wake up and say, "It's been a cold night for so long."
(Maybe one day you will wake up from this long cold night).
"Now I feel the warmth again."
You are full of love,
and I am full of fear.
Maybe one day,
I won't have to be here.

At night I see my past.
Faces I'm surprised I remember.
Moments never shared,
mostly wished for.
Tried to split in two,
stuck a four-hand fool.
My touch is cold,
but my heart is in it.
The mornings are the worst.
The train that can't be stopped.
The chair fixed my shoulders,
but my mind can't be cut off.
8 charges in a row for a false cure.
The only time placebo doesn't help.
I can convince myself of anything,
but still I only ever dwell.

Home? What Home?
05:49

Places never matter,
drift to new ones always.
Home is a useless word
to describe everyone you've known.
I feel the pull every night,
"Leave all your friends behind."
The town's a waste and so am I.
I won't bother them by staying anymore.
But if I could keep you all with me,
I'm certain that I'd try.
Roll your eyes,
don't fuck with sleep.
Why can't I
feel these drinks?
The fire doesn't matter.
They're the ones that matter.

It's not so bad,
as long as you keep the fear from your mind.
Don't go so fast,
I'm still stuck a few steps behind.
Don't miss your chance,
it all moves so fast.
If there's a next time, I'll try to be better.
Tear a hole in the sky.
Wait in a field with the ones you love.
Please open up your mouth,
I'll listen to the noise that pours out.
Don't miss your chance,
it all moves so fast.
I can't wait for you to wake up.
I can't wait to see what's inside your head.
